As part of moves to increase revenue and attract tourists into the Central region, the Effutu Municipal Assembly has inaugurated a fountain at the Winneba roundabout.

Constructed by Alfkay Group of companies, the GHC325, 000 fountain will also serve as a spot for the placement of Commercial Advertisements. It will also help to beautify the area as it forms part of the Trans West African Highway.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Central regional minister, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah called for unity among Ghanaians to help in the development of the country.

Mr. Quansah who is also the acting Municipal Chief Executive for Effutu further expressed hope that the Assembly will be able to undertake the various developmental projects needed, following what he referred to as the development of tourism within the area as a result of the Aboakyer festival.

The project was also dedicated to a former MCE for the area, the Late Nii Ephraim who is believed to have initiated the plan to construct the fountain.

Partner Manager of Alfkay Company, Catherina Achina said the project formed part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to help develop identified areas across the country.
