The Effutu Municipality has received funding from the World Bank through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development for the implementation of the third Urban Development Grant (UDG) sub projects.
This has been the 5th consecutive time since 2010 that the municipality has qualified for the District Development Facility and the Urban Development Grant.
The municipality this time intends using its share of the UDG – 3 for the construction of pavement at the Winneba Junction Lorry Park.
Speaking at a stakeholders consultation forum held at the Winneba Junction lorry park, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Owusu Mensah said, it is through the hard work of the staff of the municipal assembly and the collaborative efforts of its development partners that the Effutu Municipal Assembly had this additional funding from the district development facility and the urban development grant through a performance based assessment.
Participants were taken through the performance of the assembly since 2010 and how the funds of the previous district development facility and the urban development grant have been utilized.
Mr. Owusu Ansah also called for the support and corporation of all citizens in the Effutu Municipality to drive the process of developing the municipal to be an enviable city In Ghana.
Mr. Gaoga, the Head of works and engineering at the Municipal Assembly, gave the scope of work as far as the pavement construction is concerned and advised all to support.
