KWAME OPPONG – THE CHIEF DIRECTOR
Born on 5th August, 1958 in Accra, hails from Aboaso in the Kwabre East District in the Ashanti Region.
He did his Ordinary (‘O’) Level and Advanced (‘A’) Levels at Konongo Odumasi Senior Secondary School and Wenchie Senior Secondary School in 1777 and 1981 respectively. He proceeded to the University of Ghana where he graduated in 1986 with Bachelor degree in French/Political Science.
He holds a Higher Diploma Certificate in French Studies from the Dakar University – 1984/1985. He also holds a Diploma Certificate from GIMPA. He studied in the famous Institut International d’Administration Publique in Paris, France where he obtained a Higher Diploma in Public Administration (Territorial Administration Option)
He did his National Service at Kumasi Academy Senior High School between 1986 and 1988 after which he joined the Civil Service in February, 1989 often The Chief Director during his working career has attended several workshops, seminars and conferences both at home and abroad.
The Chief Director has so far worked in four (4) Regions, namely, Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra and Central Regions during his working carrier which covered Mampong Municipal Assembly, RCC – Kumasi, Sekyre East District Assembly, Amansie East Municipal Assembly, Ahafo Ano North District Assembly in the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council – Koforidua, Kwahu South District Assembly, East Akim District Assembly, the Local Government Service Secretariat and currently the Central Regional Co-ordinating Council.
