The Central Region is aptly designated Ghana's tourism heartbeat in view of the unique and numerous touristic attractions that are found in the region.
These include the Cape Coast and Elmina Castles, and Fort St.Jago all of which have been designated world heritage monument by UNESCO.

Others are Kakum National Park with its rich flora and fauna properties as well as the canopy walkway (the first in Africa south of the Sahara and the fourth in the world), pristine beaches such as; Elmina Beach Resort, Coconut Grove, Brenu Beach Resort and white sand at Gomoa Fetteh;
Rich and colourful festivals like the Fetu Afahye which is celebrated by the chiefs and people of Cape Coast; Bakatue by Chiefs and people of Elmina; and Aboakyer by chiefs and people of Winneba; theAssin Manso Slave route; and the biennial Pan African Historical Festival (PANAFEST) and Emancipation which brings all people of African nationality and descent together in a festival of dance, drama and speeches to celebrate their history and culture.
